isaiah 53

Isaiah 53(The Message)
1Who believes what we've heard and seen?
Who would have thought GOD's saving power would look like this?
2The servant grew up before God--a scrawny seedling,
a scrubby plant in a parched field.
There was nothing attractive about him,
nothing to cause us to take a second look.
3He was looked down on and passed over,
a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand.
One look at him and people turned away.
We looked down on him, thought he was scum.
4But the fact is, it was our pains he carried--
our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us.
We thought he brought it on himself,
that God was punishing him for his own failures.
5But it was our sins that did that to him,
that ripped and tore and crushed him--our sins!
He took the punishment, and that made us whole.
Through his bruises we get healed.
6We're all like sheep who've wandered off and gotten lost.
We've all done our own thing, gone our own way.
And GOD has piled all our sins, everything we've done wrong,
on him, on him.
7He was beaten, he was tortured,
but he didn't say a word.
Like a lamb taken to be slaughtered
and like a sheep being sheared,
he took it all in silence.
8Justice miscarried, and he was led off--
and did anyone really know what was happening?
He died without a thought for his own welfare,
beaten bloody for the sins of my people.
9They buried him with the wicked,
threw him in a grave with a rich man,
Even though he'd never hurt a soul
or said one word that wasn't true.
10Still, it's what GOD had in mind all along,
to crush him with pain.
The plan was that he give himself as an offering for sin
so that he'd see life come from it--life, life, and more life.
And GOD's plan will deeply prosper through him.
11Out of that terrible travail of soul,
he'll see that it's worth it and be glad he did it.
Through what he experienced, my righteous one, my servant,
will make many "righteous ones,"
as he himself carries the burden of their sins.
12Therefore I'll reward him extravagantly--
the best of everything, the highest honors--
Because he looked death in the face and didn't flinch,
because he embraced the company of the lowest.
He took on his own shoulders the sin of the many,
he took up the cause of all the black sheep.

Today the Uhigh tennis team played Catholic High. My partner tyler and i are still undefeated as a doubles team in season play from the past two years. We play first court doubles and went into three sets so we took much longer than everyone else. Some old men started playing on the court next to us and i started to notice a strange notice every time the guy next to use swung his racquet. After further evaluation with my partner we decided his racquet had things inside of it that made it like a rattle. This is very distracting, especially for an opponent. I was on the other side of the net from him. On another court and it bothered me. This is a genius idea, the sound is so loud and annoying that it throws off your game. I think i'll go buy me a rattle racquet

How would you like that cooked?

Today i went to go get some blood tested. As i was checking in the lady at the counter asked if i had brought any food in with me because she could smell a hamburger. I smelled it too but i was empty handed. I looked around and didn't see any burger king bags. After sitting down the smell got of steaks on the grill got much stronger and a nurse that was seated next to me commented on it to a fellow nurse sitting across from us. It was then that a lady about two chairs down said that it was her, the medicine she was taking made her pores make that smell.
I felt very bad for her at first and tried to look away. Then i thought about if for awhile; although it is very odd for a full grown women to smell like grilling steaks i really enjoy that smell. There little i enjoy more than walking outside when the neighbor is grilling steaks. I know i would hate to smell like sizzling beef but i sure wouldn't mind hanging out with someone who smelled so good, although it would make me really hungry after awhile. She must be very popular with the men that she works with i mean what guy wouldn't want to hang out with a girl that smells like that.

women's rights

I was recently reading an article where teenagers from across America wrote about dating procedures, like who should pay and where being polite ends and being corny starts. I was very surprised and upset to read that most kids my age feel that it is most appropriate for each person to pay for their own bill, ticket, ect. don't get me wrong, i'm not against women's suffrage or anything but come on. I was raised in a family where a guy opens a door for the girl, picks up the check, holds umbrellas and, heaven forbid, pulls out her chair for his date. This isn't an act of belittling the women but a gesture to show them they are important to them. I don't get how guys today feel that the girl should have to pay for her meal because they are just as capable of providing food as any man. Why don't they understand that just because they can doesn't mean they should have to?

Valentine monkey

my yellow lab roxie has finally met her match. This is a dog that fearlessly leaped out of the bed of a truck moving thirty miles per hour, attacks fireworks, tries to jump into campfire, and looks the neighbor's viscous pitbull in the face and tries to play.
with my valentine gift i received a giant balloon in the shape of a monkey. this monkey has a very stupid look on his face and is wearing a pair of boxers with little hearts all over it.
i thought it we be funny to tie the end of the balloon onto roxie's collar. At first she gave very little notice to it and went on her way. a few seconds later she realized the thing was following her and she freaked out and ran into a door. After jumping on my mom's bed and staring at it suspiciously she started to whine . I felt bad and cut it off of her, now she will not walk by it.

la food

The food in la sucks. Every restaurant i went to was horribly over priced and did not give me enough food to satisfy my hunger. My second day there i went to a little cafe with a nice courtyard in the middle of downtown LA. I ordered the tuna stakes and they brought me a small plate that was not even half covered with a very small piece of sushi that was slightly crisp around the edges. I tasted the cold piece of fish and fought to keep a straight face. I asked the waiter for some tabasco as he passed and he gave me a very strange look. He then brought me a very large bowl filled to the top with tabasco with a spoon in it. After drowning the food in hot sauce the fish was slightly eatable. I stopped at Burger king on my way back to the hotel and finished off my hunger.
